Yamaha Fazer stills, reviews and specifications

The FAZER is here,Yamaha has unveiled the sporty tourer in the capital and from the looks of it,the bike is a show topper for sure.Although the bikni fairing looks like a collage of R15 and R6 bits plonked onto an FZ16,the overall result is quite appealing

Most would agree that the 137 kg FZ16 needs a bit more grunt, but Yamaha feels that the 153 cc, 13.8 bhp motor is good enough to lug around the Fazer as well, this despite it putting on an additional four kilos. Other odds and ends of the FZ like the 'Mid-ship' muffler and the beefy 140/60 sectioned rear tyre remain intact on the new Yamaha.

Royal Enfield Bullet Machismo 500 Stills,Review and Specifications

BULLET MACHISMO 500 RULES THE ROAD:

The Machismo 500 has benefited from Austrian firm AVL’s technology, to gain a higher 8.5:1 compression ratio, and Constant Velocity carburettor. Improvements over the older Bullet 500 configuration are a flat piston head, improved valve geometry, larger cooling fins as well as a Transistor Coil Ignition system rather than the outgoing CB points. Peak power is up by 2bhp with 24bhp made at 5600rpm. Maximum torque on offer is a sizeable 4.1kgm low in the powerband at 3000rpm.

The gearbox shifts through five speeds, in the universal one-down-and-four-up pattern operated by the left leg as common on modern bikes. However, the new Machismo, which runs an exposed final-drive chain, has a kick-lever that annoyingly interferes with rider legroom.

The new Machismo sounds a lot more metallic than the older 500, thanks to it switching to an alloy cylinder. It suffers a painfully hard clutch and whimsical gearshift with neutral a chore to locate. While 24bhp may sound like a lot on paper, it’s woeful for this large an engine. Power delivery is far superior to the older 500, yet vibration levels remain disturbingly high. Top speed is disappointing at a mere 130kph. The new bike can however boast of improved acceleration over the older 500. We managed to take it from rest to 60kph in 4.75 seconds, and past the 100kph barrier in 13.6sec. The handlebar is flat and well positioned, with the footrests broad and comfortable as well. Absolutely nobody will feel cramped on a Machismo 500, with even the largest and tallest of frames effortlessly swallowed into a wide and well-padded saddle. While ride quality is at best, and often a bit too stiff, in a straight-line the new Machismo feels brilliant, with almost car-like stability on offer even at high speeds of around 100kph

. Its large 280mm single front disc, coupled with a drum at the rear, succeeded in bringing the behemoth to rest from 60kph in no more than 17.47 metres. Brake feel at the lever, as well as a tendency for the front of the bike to wallow under hard braking, can improve. The heavy machine delivered 29.3 kilometres per litre (kpl) through crowded city traffic and 33.3kpl on the highway.

New Bajaj Pulsar 200cc reviews, stills, specifications and price

The all new Pulsar 200 is mainly for the young generation. It comes with lots and lots of accessories which will enhance the performance of the vehicle. Usually in these days bikes are being made powerful by the young ones. So according to their need Pulsar 200 is also designed into a powerful manner. It comes equipped with an Oil cooler, which helps control engine oil temperatures at sustained high speeds and rpms, thus ensuring more stable engine oil viscosity. The 200cc DTS-I engine generates 18 Ps of raw pulsating power to provide riding excitement to performance hungry bikers. This makes the Pulsar 200 the most sporty and stylish powerhouse on two wheels to pace the Indian roads.
It’s also the first bike in India to feature both front and rear tubeless tires, which besides offering superior stability are safer than conventional tube types and in sync with the offerings abroad for similar applications. The rear tire is the broadest in its category to ensure better road grip and stability.

The new digital console is an advanced version of the latest Pulsar family. Apart from the Digital Odometer, Digital Speedo Meter, Digital Fuel Gauge and two Digital Trip Meters, the console on the 200 cc Pulsar DTS-I has indicators for Air filter condition, Engine temperature, Battery voltage and Oil level, all of which contribute to enhancing rider info for trouble-free riding.

Latest Technology in Bajaj Pulsar:
DTSi - Digital Twin spark ignition: This technology helps the motorcycle a phenomenal performance augmentation and its being introduced for the first time in Bajaj Pulsar. Twin Sparkplugs for better and faster combustion in Bajaj Pulsar: As per convention there is only one spark plug at one end of the combustion chamber. This somewhat results in slow burning of air fuel mixture. 2 spark plugs at the either end of the combustion chamber helps in better and faster combustion Ignition handled by Digital C.D.I: A digital cdi powered by 8 bit microprocessor chip handles the spark delivery thus gives maximum efficiency to the bike. Constant velocity carburetor in Bajaj Pulsar: The CV carburetor provides high level of performance.

Engine and Transmission:
Pulsar 200cc features India’s first oil cooled engine which delivers a maximum power of 18Ps@8000rpm making it most powerful engine offered by Bajaj. It’s an air cooled single-cylinder with an alloy barrel and head as well as twin valves. Oil cooler placed just below the fuel tank helps in further cooling of engine lubricant and keep the large 198.8cc motor cool. Digital twin spark ignition (DTS-i) and torque expansion chamber — ExhausTEC ensures the pulsar to provide sufficient levels of torque at low engine rpm levels and is optimized to provide torque distribution in the mid and higher range rpm levels. Pulsar 200cc features a five speed gearbox with one down and four up pattern.

For the face lifted Karizma the engine remains the same. Karizma scores over the pulsar when comes to torque, the bigger engine provides a healthy 18.35Nm@6000rpm against the pulsar’s 17.17Nm. The progressive feel, multi-plate wet-type clutch and the smooth five-speed gearbox are again the same as in the previous version. Pulsar 200cc clocks a top speed of 121kph against the 125kph offered by Karizma 223cc. Pulsar 200cc is not quicker as Karizma 223cc and it cruises to 60kph from rest in 4.73 seconds. The pulsar 200cc offers an impressive mileage of 38.3kpl in city and 42.4kpl in highway against the Karizma offers only 30kpl in city and a decent figure of 45kpl in highway. Performance figures are taken from auto car India.

In addition to the features mentioned in design section both these bikes have special features which increases their practicality Pulsar 200cc also leaves its drive chain exposed with O’ ring sealed, which is pre-lubricated to help it stay reliable inspite of running open without protection is one such example. Similar to its sibling Pulsar 220cc-soon to be launched, the pulsar 200cc bike throws away the kick lever and makes you to crank the engine only with your thumb unlike the Karizma which offers both self and Kick mechanism for cranking.

Other than these advantages this Bajaj Pular 200 had got some disadvantages also. One of the major disadvanatage that most of the 200 owners is telling that the turning radius is very much low. When the turning radius becomes very much low there will be some difficulty to turn the vehicle in small roads and all.

Performance:
Maximum speed :130 km/h with single rider (68 kg) (claimed)
Price :- 63,019 (ex-showroom) Cochin

New Hero Honda Karizma stills, prices, specifications and reviews

Hero Honda Karizma is one of the bike which is making the young one's heart a thrilling one. After the hero honda had released this 223cc bike ther is no other bikes which will break the performance of this Karizma. Also the design had made the hero honda karizma to pierce into the young ones heart. One of the great design done in Karizma is that its visor or head is as like the sports model. Everyone likes all those types of heads. When someone looks at a sports bike they will have certain attraction to it. So as such when karizma is also attracted by somany.
At first Hero Honda had released only Karizma. now some modifications are done and named it as Hero Honda Karizma R. Karizma is undoubtedly the bike with the highest horse power in India. (Considering bikes within the 1 Lakh Range). For a bike of 223 cc, 17 hp is really great! While driving, you can feel the surge of acceleration (and the surge of adrenalin). This bike is suitable both for city riding and riding in highways. As you put the fifth gear and slowly accelerate, the bike maintains its stability upto 110 Kmph, but later it gets a little shaky. From the top speed tests runs Karizma had done upto 125 Kmph, eventhough the claimed maximum speed is higher.
Looking into the head of the Karizma, we can see 2 dials, a RPM meter and a Speedometer and next to it is the digital panel which displays Fuel, a Trip meter, total distance and a digital clock! The clock is really good because there is no need to leave the handle bars to check the time in wrist while driving! The high beam and neutral indicators are situated in the speedometer dial. The indicators are bright enough so that you can easily see its status in bright sunlight.

Hero Honda’s Engineers have put in several months of work in developing their flagship model Karizma. It is not easy to bring a foreign style to India without compromising the engine capacity and mileage (which are the most important factors for Indian bikes). The is technically the first bike in India in which the doom blends with the main body of the bike. One big advantage of this is that the handle bars are free to turn because there is no extra weight attached to it (like the head light and dashboard). Karizma is the first bike in India which came with pre-installed alloy wheels.

Karizma Specifications:
Engine: Aircooled single cylinder 4 stroke OHC
Displacement: 223 cc
Maximum Power: 12.68 KW (17 PS) @ 7000 RPM
Maximal Torque: 18.35 N-m @ 6000 RPM

Tyres: Front: 2.75 x 18 - 42P,
Rear: 100/90 x 18 - 56P

New Hero Honda Glamour reviews, stills and specifications

Hero Honda Glamour is equipped with all the required market friendly features. Two models of this bike are based on all the technological advances. Hero Honda Glamour and Hero Honda glamour FI. It is the bike for every kind of customers and with different choices. This bike comes with all the facilities that all finicky bike lovers really look for in his best possession.Hero Honda Glamour is a perfect blend between the higher end so called sporty bikes and lower end 100cc bikes.
Hero Honda Glamour 125cc
Styling:

The bike stands out with its unique design in the hood. Aerodynamically shaped air pockets on both sides of the head lamp adds to the head turning effect of the bike.
With sporty stickering on the sides and optimum overall size of the body, the bike will be appealing to majority of the Indian audience. The grooves in the tank are perfectly blended even for a 6 foot tall man to accommodate his knees with comfort. The size of the tank is not too big nor too small. Perfect. The fuel switch is significantly different than other bikes, big and easy to handle. Also The sides of the tails looks like it is adopted from former Ambition 135. The tail lamps are also perfectly designed, not too aggressive nor too plain.

Performance: The bike has a 4-speed gear system, all in one way. Great for city riding. If you are finding it difficult for changing the gears in one down, four up system, you would love Glamour. The 125cc engine gives a very good job of giving a smooth ride at higher speeds. This is primarily because of the positioning of the engine. Note that unlike other bikes, the piston in the engine moves back and forth instead of up and down. So it is natural that the vibration is reduced in this case

Mileage
On an average the mileage of the bike is 45 - 50 kmpl. But after 3 months of regular servicing, you should get more than 50 kmpl for sure. Some have reported 60kmpl constant mileage.
The dash board has three dials as shown above. No digital display! May be in the next version of Glamour we can expect one. Cute fuel indicator and other leds.
Verdict: If you are buying a 125cc bike, you most probably will upgrade it after a few years of use. So before you buy, don’t just think about the performance, but consider the give away aspect. Hero Honda and Honda bikes have better resale value than Bajaj and TVS. The engines are more durable and gives good performance even after years of use.
Pros: Looks, Smoothness, Quality
Cons: Varying mileage across different units

Stills, Specifications of new version of Bajaj Pulsar 180

Bajaj Pulsar is considered to be one of the most sold bike model in the Indian market. The brand has been such a phenomenal success for Bajaj that investing in bikes which sport the tag has been paying back immensely. Bajaj have introduced four different versions of Pulsar (Pulsar 150,180,200,220) in the market and all have been selectively doing excellent business for the brand. Now, Bajaj have updated their 180cc Pulsar and this new version of the Pulsar 180 DTS-i, internally called the UG4 (short for upgrade four) is all set to conquer the hearts of the millions.
Most of the parts in the old Pulsar 180 DTS-i have been kept alive. The same wolf-eyed headlamp, the LED tail lamp and the kickless start feature have all been carried forward. The orange back-lit digital speedo and odometer and the cool white LED backlit controls and switch gear have been carried forward too. The other notable feature that reappearanced is the self cancelling turn indicator switch, that behaves like those in a car. In this method, the indicator bulb is automatically deactivated after the manoeuvre is made or after a preset time, if the turn is not made.
Features that are added in this new version of Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTS-i were the chunky and retro-looking three part handle bar, that offered the sturdy frontal looks for 200. It also added the slap-on tank flaps from the Pulsar 220, on either side of the oversized petrol tank. The other new features include the split seats for rider and pillion, the two-piece rear grab rail and the rubber anti-scratch pad on the petrol tank.

The 178.6cc engine has been re-tuned to squeeze out a bit more power. The Pulsar 180 DTS-i's four-stroke, air-cooled engine now generates 17.02 PS at 8,500 rpm. Peak torque available is 14.22 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The wheelbase of the dual tube chassis of the new Pulsar 180 DTS-i has been lengthened a bit to 1,345mm. The swing arm is now a new, thicker oval-section member and the front forks are also chunkier 130mm stroke. Braking power at the front is now provided by a 260mm disc and the same 130mm drum at the rear. The new Pulsar 180 DTS-i is now a heavier bike with its kerb weight at 147 kgs.
The new Pulsar 180 DTS-i is priced at about Rs 63,300/-.

TVS RTR 180 specifcations, reviews, stills and prices

TVS had launched the much expected apache RTR 180 (known as RTR menace). The new apache RTR 180 is powered by a 177.3cc engine. It is not fuel injected but a bored and stroked avatar of popular 160cc mill. TVS engineers have given a lighter crank, lighter magneto and a bigger carburettor for quicker engine response. We expect the 180cc motor to offer better low- and mid-range torque. TVS claims the new apache RTR 180 to reach 60kmph from standstill in 4.15 seconds and top speed as 125kph. TVS apache RTR 180 produces 17.3PS which is slightly higher than the new upgraded Bajaj pulsar 180. TVS has also worked on mechanicals to improve the dynamics of the race-bred RTR. The wheelbase is increased by 30mm for the improved stability. The brakes are carried forward from apache RTR FI - 270mm petal disc at the front and 200mm disc at the rear. Apart from the change the heart and mechanical changes, there is very little to distinguish between the RTR 160 and RTR 180. The new apache RTR 180 gets larger sized RTR decals on tank scoops and removable rear mudguard. It also gets a new white back tachometer.
We can expect that the all new 180cc engine bike from TVS Company will kiss the Indian roads in a good manner. Christened as Menace, this sports bike has whole new looks with stepped-up performance.
Designed along similar lines of previous TVS Apache RTR models, TVS Apache Menace will steal an envying glance from the passers by for the no-front-scoop fairing. The bike gets a sportier look with part of exposed engine. The new TVS Apache RTR 180 Menace will be available in three colors of sporty yellow, flaming red and matt grey.

Running on 180cc engine TVS Apache Menace is expected to generate power of 18bhp and 16Nm torque with a top speed of 135kph. It comes with multi-plate clutch system, 5-speed gear transmission, and has an air-cooled, 4-stroke, mono cylinder 180cc engine. The engine will be powered by a fuel injection system and will have a greater compression ratio for enhanced combustion as well as fuel optimum utilization.
The all new dream bike TVS Apache Menace will come equipped with a double-cradle chassis and a mono shock suspension. The bike comes with disc brakes both front and rear ends and it is one enhanced safety feature. With Apache Menace one can also expect a longer wheelbase and even digital speedometer.

The all new TVS apache RTR 180 ( known as RTR menace) priced around Rs70,000.

Hero Honda Hunk prices, reviews and specifications

Hero Honda recently launched their not much awaited bike Hero Honda Hunk. Already talks about it and specially its name, Hero Honda could have used some better name. Well, Hunk is still, if you look into dictionary then it is a very manly word. This machine has almost similar power and torque to CBZ xtreme, ie. 14.2bhp at 8500 rpm and 12.8 nm at 6500 rpm. Then engine displacement is 149.2 cc . And the engine is set to have tumble flow ( I can't comment over it as do not have enough information about it).
Looking over design, the bike has over all a big look as we had with CBZ xtreme. This time grab rail is single piece ie not like CBZ xtreme which as splitted one looked really cool. One thing I noticed here that they wanted to bike to look shorter and sporty and hence you can see on back that they have kept seat little shorter though ideally should stretch a bit more, anyhow it is looking unique. What I think that there was something missing in CBZ xtreme and Hero Honda thinks that to compete with Apache RTR and new pulsar, they should work around and hence we have "Hunk".

Prices and Fuel Consumption
Fuel consumption is said to same as CBZ but with little improvement. And bike comes in two version, a kick start costing Rs. 55000 ex showroom Delhi and Rs. 57000 for Electric start ex-showroom Cochin. Price is all standard.
What Indianroadies thought of HeroHonda Hunk
These are the reviews from our own experience. Riding the Hunk upto the second service is good. That means that with in the short period of time the engine becomes unstable.Actually this bike is not very much stable. When you ride this bike you will surely experience those mistakes. But the company is telling that there is no sound from the bike and also there is no unstableness in the bike. Only advantage that we see in this bike is This from the great company Hero Honda.
